Monday's Over

Back to the Grind and surprisingly today went off without any glitches or serious complaints or yelling from parents. Praise the Lord!

Chris and I had a great weekend! Yesterday we got up early with intentions of going to church and then decided we would go in the evening and head out to White Rock for a visit with his family. We picked up Starbucks in Langley and ran into Brian. It was nice to catch up and hear about his new job with ICBC, *yuck* after a short visit we continued on our way. When we got to the reserve it was pretty quiet except for at Bernards where everyone was getting ready to start canning peaches for the day. We were asked if we wanted to help and jumped on the offer. Canning? Neither of us had ever done it, but considering the loads of it we are stocked up with each year it definatley was our turn to help out. Not only that, its a great opportunity to hang out with his family and visit as you work. It seems we do alot of that with them, but its always a blast. Leann was helping for the day and she did a great job, she's such a hard little worker and we loved having her around for the day. So we ended up staying until the canning was all finished and cleaned up, I think we canned 150 jars of peaches and we came home with 6 for ourselves and to give away once they are ready. Before leaving to come home, we were treated to a salmon dinner with corn on the cob, a chicken side dish, potatoes, and bannock! Yum!

Moving backwards, On Saturday I worked with Brandon and took him to Chilliwack to a family fair and to check out the huge machinery on the farms. We had a great time! We just drove by, but he still loves that kinda stuff. In the evening Chris and I enjoyed appys and a few drinks at Blueridge while watching two unknown hockey teams play on the ice below. It was very relaxing and great to sit down and chat.

I won't talk about how crazy and hectic last week was for me. It seems like almost every one of my families had issues going on with their child's school. I felt for the parents who were upset, frustrated, and emotional/physically drained at the fight they were having to insue with schools who were not providing the proper and promised support to their children. By the time Friday mid day came around, I was so beat, but still had a few more appointments to get through. I prayed asking God for strength to make it to the end of the day and it was as if a load of 100 pounds came off my shoulders. Although our weekend seemed busy, it was the type I would call restful and relaxing to not think about work and to just hang out and do what I love with the one I love.

With that being said, I think I am back on the blogger track. It looks like I am going to have to learn a bit more about this beta thing so I can continue to blog once the changes are made.

In the meantime, I am going to attempt to post some pictures of the last weekends of our summer. Okay from ALL of August!!!!
